A MYSTERIOUS ball of light that zipped across St Helens skies on Monday night has been hailed as a possible UFO sighting. A family from St Helens say they watched in utter amazement as the flashing light seared through the heavens and then vanished shortly after 10.15pm. Mum, Nicola Macmillan, 32, says she called the police after being stunned by the Unidentified Flying Object - and was told by an officer that similar sightings had been reported in Huyton and Wirral. Nicola said: "We were stood at the front of our house and could see what was like a big ball of fire in the sky. "It came across our house and then moved left towards the Huntsman pub - then moved again and appeared to go into the clouds and all we could see was a big black circle - before it moved again." Nicola and her family, husband Will, 11-year-old son Ryan and sister-in-law Charlotte, watched the spooky light in the sky for about seven minutes. She added: "No aircraft could move like that - it was very strange and when I phoned the police the woman on the line said she had other reports including one in Huyton where it had knocked a lot of lights out. "My sister-in-law was joking that she hoped it was not going to beam us up...but honestly I've never seen anything like it in my life." DID anyone else see it? The above is the actual photograph of the UFO taken by Jade's husband. It was flying up verticle into the clouds, as the image was taken.
HERE IS THE FULL STORY!
My sister-in-law was leaving and so we all went outside to say goodbye. My husband was the first to notice the aircraft. It was literally above our house, you felt as if you could just reach up and pick it out of the sky.
We all watched in amazement and in total wonder. The object was metallic silver in colour and shaped like a large egg, it had symbolic writing engraved on the left hand side. There was no sound, as you would expect from a flying machine.
The most worrying thing was that it was on fire. The base of the craft had flames pouring out of it.
My husband ran in doors for his camera and tried to take a photograph as soon as he returned, however his camera switched off and would not come back on, until the craft had moved away from our home.
Neighbours stood with us all in amazement, as we watched it shoot up vertically into the sky. The flames went out and the machine turned black in colour.
My husband caught the image of the flames on his camera, as the craft turned black. That was the only photograph that he was able to take, because when the object was lit up, his digital camera would cease from working.
Disappearing behind the clouds for a sort time, the object quickly re-emerged in a floating motion. We all noted that the flames were out and then suddenly everything lit back up and the craft began to fly properly again.
It headed towards Liverpool.
It was a totally bizarre experience, I felt grave concern for the beings inside the craft. It was very worrying to see it on fire. We questioned if it had been hit by something or if it had some other mechanical problem.
Saying goodbye to my sister-in-law, we went inside and I immediately telephoned the police. I was told by the police woman that two other reports had been made from Wirral and Huyton.
Allegedly a man in Huyton had witnessed the craft on flames and thought that it had crashed. He went to what he thought was the landing site, only the craft had disappeared.
Another family reported car alarms being set off in their road and street lamps being knocked off before hearing a large bang and witnessing the object flying away in flames.
It was thirty minutes later when a Tornado aircraft flew past our house and around the Merseyside area! We believed that it had been sent out to check our skies after all of the reports that the police had received.
I contacted a paranormal group, as I have done parapsychology work and assisted people with hauntings in their homes and places of business. They looked into the matter further.
There conclusion was that the object was the Tornado aircraft, which obviously is wrong. I took it upon myself to contact the Ministry of Defence and I received two e-mails back from them.
The lady confirmed that no aircraft was in our skies at the time of the sighting and that a UFO could not be ruled out!
We all swear to this day that it was not a Tornado and definitely not an aircraft known to man.
The simple fact that the object was in the shape of an egg, kind of rules that theory out!

It is since our above sighting that many other people within the St Helens area came forward and disclosed their sightings and questions concerning UFO and extraterrestrial life.
A full year later Jade began to write her book on the subject, which will be available soon.
